Christmas is well on it’s way and why not bring it even closer. Junk De Luxe have this very seasonal jumper which i think is spot on for the time of the year. Although it’s kinda risky wearing one of these, either the banter from your mates or people thinking your having a laugh, we think everyone is going to be wearing this style jumper in the coming weeks up to christmas so get yours in early to set the trend wherever your from. Barbour Chelsea Quilted Coat – Garm Of The Week
It occurred to me last night at a friends firework party, can of lager in hand, wearing an old leather jacket, stood in front of a bonfire that i was still absolutly freezing. with the weather in England recently turning slightly on the cool side i needed to invest in a thick coat for the winter. So as soon as i got home i was straight on the internet scouting around for a nice coat. Garm of The Week – All Saints Pyrus Blazer
I know that a blazer is an essential bit of kit when it comes to men’s fashion and I’m not happy with the outdated one I have hanging in my wardrobe. Realising that I need an upgrade I thought I would use this opportunity to see what the high street and online fashion stores have to offer and then share this with you (the readers) as a garm of the week feature. After a bit of browsing around I picked this one from All Saints, I wasn’t looking for a blazer to make up part of a suit, but more a jacket for a smart / casual outfit and being single button, slim fit and charcoal in colour this All Saints one ticked all the boxes and I think the £150 price tag is quite reasonable. The Gillet
Looking around online shops and the high street, there are clearly more gilet’s available this season compared to previous years. Gilet’s did come to my attention last Autumn / Winter but I didn’t end up grabbing one, which was a good thing, as this season they have clearly grown in popularity within men’s fashion, resulting in a bigger variety too choose from.
I believe the reason Gilet’s have become more fashionable this year is probably due to the popular trends we have seen come forward this autumn and winter, trends and styles such as the worker trend, preppy trend and the british heritage trend currently featured on ASOS. The gilet works well with the rugged worker trend as it is a great item to wear over the top of a checked lumberjack style shirt, with a pair of roughed up jeans. The Ralph Lauren Gilet I have featured in this post will probably work better with the preppy trend, due to it’s simple style and just being the brand Ralph Lauren, which is often associate with the uni / preppy scene. Polo Shirts seem to make their way into all men’s fashion trends and are popular throughout all seasons. I’m really liking this Vivienne Westwood polo implementing the high collar and three button trend like many of the Vivienne Westwood shirts. It seems as though the recent trend has been small collar polos but this polo takes it the other end of the scale with it’s overly large collar, however being Vivienne Westwood and having the high neck, the large collar is a good look and brings something new to the table for mens polo shirts. Our garm of the week this week is a hooded shirt from AllSaints. I was having a browse through their new arrivals page on the AllSaints website and this item seemed to catch my eye. I liked the design and figured it would make a good alternative to a jumper or lightweight jacket and with summer coming to end it’s a good time to start thinking about Autumn fashion and trends.
This isn’t the first time I’ve seen a hooded shirt, I remember them appearing back in winter and spring on ASOS and a couple of other retailers. At the time I liked the idea but not the styles I seen available, I wasn’t impressed with the fit and colours. This AllSaints hooded shirt however really caught my attention and will be purchased very soon, like similar AllSaints shirts available it uses the Alaskan style checked pattern with the dark Red and Navy colours which fit in very well with the Autumn/Winter trend.Although IÂ haven’t tried this hooded shirt on yet, from looking at the image and going by the profile of other All Saints shirts it should be a nice fit.
